Sesame Street!

I was flipping through channels when all of a sudden Megan made her excited voice and got her flappers going...Sesame Street! I left it there, and she watched for about 10 minutes (without really even moving!). Soon, she decided to crawl up to the TV and watch from about a foot away. I warned her about touching Daddy's TV (that's when I took the "guilty" picture).

Last game of the season...

Cousin time!

Alex, Austin, Gage, Kyler, Mandy, and Megan all had a play date at Gran and Papa's house this weekend. Never a dull moment! There's always a baby to be fed, a diaper to change, a sippy cup to sit upright, a run to the potty...you name it, we have it! Megan LOVES playing with her cousins!

Visitor

"Auntie" Brandy came to visit today! We haven't seen her in months. Megan is usually shy around people she hasn't seen in awhile, but not today. Brandy came in and Megan warmed up to her right away. They played hard! So hard that Meg took 2 long naps today, even after sleeping 11 hours last night!

Thanks for coming to play! Come back again soon!

Worn out!

Toys should never remain in the toy basket. They should be emptied at least 3 times a day...if not more. I'm not stupid enough to actually pick up the toys so many times a day because I need it clean. Heavens no! "Empty the toy basket" is one of our new games. Megan has figured out how to climb up the box next to the toy basket and pull toys out until it's light enough to the knock the whole thing over. Then we do it again and again and again. It really is fun to watch her figure it out.

What the heck is up with this separation anxiety crap? Geez. She pretty much has to be touching me or she's crying. It's very tiring. Tomorrow I guess I'll just duct tape her to my body. I did manage to do these things one-handed today: straighten the house, 2 loads of dishes, dust the living room, Swiffer-vac the tile, clean out her closet and drawers, 4 loads of laundry (folded, too), manually reprogram the cable channels, cook lunch and dinner, and pee 3 times. I promise - this is all with her dangling on my hip because she wouldn't nap! She's still going right now. She's not, but I'm worn out!!!! Help! When does this little phase end? And how can I help it along?

NOT in the mood!

Uncle Scotty hand-made Megan's warrior head dress. It made it through most of the game. We only lost 2 feathers. Not too shabby. Many thanks to Granna. She took the unhappy Megan up to the lobby area and held her for the second half of the game so we could watch/talk.

Granna time

Who needs a crib for a nap when Granna is visiting?

What a face!

I cannot stop laughing at this picture!! Megan decided to start standing up on her own for about 10 seconds at a time. Granna got her camera out, and of course, a photo shoot ensued. Granna snapped just in time to get this face as I tried to catch her bum from falling. (You might want to click on the picture to enlarge it for the full effect.)

Up for air!

I apologize to my fans for not updating this week. It has been one for the books.

We bid farewell to my gallbladder on Tuesday. While it was an outpatient procedure, it hurt like hell and was surgery. I have 4 nasty little incisions, which are constant reminders that I can't do everything I normally do. I've made up my mind that it's time to be recovered.

Equally traumatic, our hubby/daddy is out of town for work. We are so blessed to have wonderful, generous family members around 24/7 (since I can't lift Megan) to take care of us, but they aren't our daddy! We miss him! (To the possible internet predators that now know we're here w/out Jeremy...someone is always here with us and we have a gun!)

Megan is EVERYWHERE. I mean EVERYWHERE. She loves to crawl, pull-up, walk around, and climb all over the house. No fear and no boundaries. It sure makes for great entertainment and exercise for the chaser. She's so fun!

Meow!

The cat costume fits right now, but the big question is whether or not it will fit in over a month from now. It's hard to tell. Granna and Double G gave us this costume when Meg was brand new. Who knew she'd be such a chunk? So in conclusion, this is the costume for right now. We may have to pinch-hit in October.

Me Eat Coffee Table

Megan spends a good part of her day standing somewhere or just anywhere. Most of her time is spent between the ottoman or, much tastier, the coffee table. Forget the dollars and cents invested in cute little baby teethers...let's just teethe on Mommy and Daddy's nice coffee table!
She has also started making crazy faces. I don't really know what to call them, but they are hilarious. This is one from a series of a performance we got this evening.

All smiles

Megan is such a happy baby. Whether it's playing on the floor, chasing the cats, singing through the aisles at Walmart, or snuggling in your lap, she's just happy! I can't believe she's already crawling around, pulling up, and taking steps (holding on, of course).

Daddy's Hair Salon

Daddy has taken interest in styling Megan's hair. Should I be worried?

Meg and Gage

Despite being attacked, crawled over, smacked, loved on, and just outright abused, Cousin Gage thought Cousin Megan was hilarious! In the picture with her hand on his face, he's laughing I promise! They had a good time playing.
